Utah Association for Gifted Children advocates for the diverse population of gifted children in the State of Utah. We advance the understanding of the academic and social/emotional needs of gifted children among community leaders, policy makers, educators and parents. We promote the development of quality services to provide educational opportunities for gifted students. We increase the capacity of educators and parents to be agents of change in their schools and communities and in the lives of gifted children.
Membership benefits include an online newsletter published regularly reporting recent events and developments in the field of gifted education, an annual conference registration discount, a voice at the state capitol through a legislative liaison and updates on legislation affecting gifted education, an opportunity to join a UAGC affiliate in your local area, information about UAGC scholarships and awards, and an opportunity to participate on a UAGC Board Committee.
A Workshop Series: Supporting the Social & Emotional Needs of Gifted Students Who are Twice Exceptional (2E) is a FREE, virtual event sponsored by the Utah State Board of Education and features Maureen Neihart, Psy.D., a licensed child psychologist with more than thirty years’ experience working with gifted children and their families. There will be four sessions held on Thursdays, March 4, 11, 18, & 25 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. via Zoom. Registration is required. The session topics are:

- Preventing and Reversing Underachievement
- Helping Twice Excetional Students Manage Stress and Anxiety

This FREE event for parents and educators features the book When Gifted Kids Don't Have All the Answers by Judy Galbraith, M.A. & Jim Delisle, Ph.D. The discussion sessions will be on Mondays, March 8th, April 12th, and May 10th from 8:00 - 9:00 PM MST via Zoom. Dr. Delisle will be the featured speaker at a UAGC Parent Night on Tuesday, June 15 @ 6:30 PM MST. The presentation topic is "Understanding Your Gifted Child from the Inside Out." This will be FREE, virtual event but registration is required.
Gifted Goes to Hollywood!! Mark you calendars for June 15-17 for the 2021 UAGC Virtual Annual Conference which will feature Dr. Jim Delisle. With more than three decades of workng in behalf of gifted learners, Dr. Delisle offers valuable insights and strategies for understanding and teaching gifted children. His keynote sessions will focus on topics such as "Doing Poorly on Purpose", "Creating Strong Kids Through Writing", and "Meeting the Intellectual/Emotional Needs of Gifted Learners". Lisa Van Gemert, The Gifted Guru, will also present. This conference is for parents, teachers and administrators. Registration will open soon!

Whitworth University Gifted Education Institute Series This webinar series "Giftedness Knows No Boundaries: Equity, Access & Opportunity for All Learners" will address contemporary issues in gifted education over six virtual sessions.
