[UAGCNews] IB Revisited at the Legislature

On May 21st, the Education Interim Committee, a subcommittee of
the legislature, will be meeting and International Baccalaureate
is currently on the agenda for an hour. Generally, this
committee meets at 1:00 p.m. in room 445 at the Capitol, but at
this time, the agenda has not been finalized with a time and
location. As soon as it is finalized, we will update you. It is
important that legislative committee members be contacted as soon
as possible. They need to know of your support and feelings
regarding IB. At present, the only person we know scheduled to
present is Cherilyn Bacon Eagar. She is titled as an expert,
even though she is not an educator or researcher. She is the
marketing director and co-owner of Webstarget by Computer Camp,
an internet marketing and website positioning company. Barring
any contrary information, the legislators will have only her
information to consider. We need to provide them with as much
useful information as possible prior to the meeting and then be
present at the meeting to help support International
Baccalaureate. Contacts should be polite and informative. Many
of these legislators have voted for IB funding in the past. We
want them to continue their support.
