TWO HUGE ITEMS:
1. I just got off the phone with Representative Carol Spackman
Moss, the legislator who is running the IB Legislation (HB 266).
Thanks to the efforts of so many teachers, parents, and students,
last night the Leadership in the House and Senate lifted HB 266
from the Senate Rules Committee and prioritized it for funding.
Later today, they will attach this legislation to the School
Finance Bill and it will be funded at $100,000 (most bills with a
fiscal note are being funded at a lesser amount because of the
shortfall this year) in ONGOING monies.
This is a huge victory for all of us. Statute will also be
written into this part of the legislation to insure that the
monies can only be used for IB.
Please now send and email to your legislators thanking them for
their efforts. I'm sure they've heard our message loud and clear
and now we need to thank them!
2. Carol Spackman Moss is going to be on the radio KUER (90.1)
at 11:15 TODAY to talk about IB. She shared that you can access
this online or on radio.
Again, GOOD NEWS!!! THANK PARENTS, STUDENTS AND TEACHERS!!!
