Announcing the
Intermountain Gifted Conference
K-12 Literacy Differentiation
June 9-11, 2008
Utah State University
I'm very excited about this year's Intermountain Conference on
Education of the Gifted and Talented. We've made a number of
changes that I'd like to point out below that we believe will
make this a much more accessible conference.
1. The conference has been shortened from 5
days to 3 days. However, with the extension of hours each day,
we'll still be able to offer the 2 graduate credit option.
2. We'll feature one keynote speaker-Dr. Sally
Reis-who will focus on differentiation in literacy.
3. Instead of the traditional break-out
sessions we've had in the past, the conference will now feature
3-day mini-strands. Conference registrants will soon be able to
sign up for two of these on our conference website. One of these
mini-strands will feature issues related to jr. high/middle
school gifted programs and another to teaching gifted students in
the high school, so please make sure your jr. high/middle/high
school people get the word about this conference also.
4. Lunch will be provided as part of the
conference registration.
With these and other changes, I'm sure you will thoroughly enjoy
and benefit from attendance at this year's conference. More
information and registration is available at
www.giftedconference.org <http://www.giftedconference.org/> .
Best,
Scott Hunsaker
Conference Director
