[UAGCNews] Belin-Blank Advanced Leadership Institute: Gifted English Language Learners

The Belin-Blank Advanced Leadership Institute (B-BALI) provides
participants with the opportunity to focus on the issues of
critical importance in gifted education today. The 2007 B-BALI
explores the needs, and ways to meet those needs, of gifted
English Language Learners (ELL). 

An optional B-BALI Pre-Institute, to be held Thursday, June 21
(9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon), will provide an overview of the
understandings required to work with either gifted learners or
ELL, including unique concerns of students; major concepts; and
the terminology unique to each field. 

Special guests at the Institute include Dr. Margie Kitano, Dr.
Rosina Gallagher, and Dr. David Lohman.  These scholars, as well
as others, will be sharing insights and encouraging you to
discuss ways to identify and serve Gifted English Language
Learners in your districts.  Details (and registration) available
