UAGC needs your Stories!
The Utah Association for Gifted Children (UAGC) is looking for stories
from students in high ability math programs and from parents of high
ability math students. These stories will be printed in our next
newsletter sent out to all UAGC members. Stories should be about 2-3
paragraphs long and address any or all of the following topic ideas:
As a parent what has it been like to have a high ability math student?
What types of programs have helped you along the way?
What have been some of the rewards and challenges of raising a child who
has high ability math skills?
When did you first notice that your child was interested in math?
As a student what programs have helped you to expand or develop your
math knowledge?
When did you first start to love math?
What are some of the challenges you have had?
What are your goals in regards to math, and what do you dream of
accomplishing?
This is a fun opportunity to bring awareness to the area of math and
show how truly important it is. Anyone who is interested in submitting a
story should do so by 2/18/07 and send it in an E-mail to
michellef at utahparentcenter.org . Any questions should also be sent to
Michelle Murphey at the above address. Thanks, and we look forward to
hearing your stories!
