Drs. Fernette and Brock Eide are giving 3 lectures on while in
Salt Lake City:  The Utah Association for Gifted Children and a
local group of parents (Sally, Teri, Steve and Michelle) are
co-sponsoring "Twice Exceptional Learner" on Wednesday September
27.  The University of Utah Eric Moerer Memorial Lectures
include:  "Gifted Children: A Full Perspective - Neurobiology,
Temperament, Motivation, Experience and Development" and "The
Midas Touch: How Giftedness Itself Can Become a Learning
Challenge".  See details below and in attached flyers.

Gifted and Learning Challenged: Twice Exceptional Students

Twice-exceptional students are atypical learners who are often
characterized as smart students with school problems.

They may have:

. Attention Difficulties

. Visual and Auditory Problems

. Dyslexia

. Sensory Processing Disorder

. Memory Weaknesses

. Troubles with Math

. Language Difficulties

 

Brock Eide, M.D., M.A. is a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega
Alpha Medical Honor Society from the University of Washington
School of Medicine.

He has trained in clinical medicine and basic science research at
the National Institutes of Health, the University of Pennsylvania
School of Medicine, and the University of California-San
Francisco School of Medicine. Fernette Eide, MD is a graduate of
Harvard University and received her M.D. from the University of
California-San Francisco School of Medicine. She has been on the
Neurology faculties of University of Washington, the University
of California-San Francisco, and University of Chicago School of
Medicine.

 

The Drs. Eide run the Eide Neurolearning Clinic in Edmonds
Washington, which provides neurology consultation,
neuropsychological assessment, and learning and school report
recommendations for children: http://neurolearning.com. They are
on the Professional Advisory Committee for SENG (Supporting
Emotional Needs of Gifted).
