Thank you for signing up to be notified about SENG-Model Parent Support Groups in Utah thru the [UtahSENG]listserv.
SENG-Model Parent Support Groups (www.SENGifted.org) are a multi-week guided discussion group for parents of bright or gifted children using one of the following books:
"A Parent's Guide to Gifted Children" by Webb, Gore, Amend and DeVries, Great Potential Press, 2007.
"Guiding the Gifted Child: A Practical Source for Parents and Teachers" by Webb, Meckstroth and Tolan, Great Potential Press, 1989.
The topics covered include: Identification & Characteristics, Motivation & Discipline, Peer and Sibling Relationships, Parent Relationships, Stress, Depression and Tradition Breaking. The Utah Assn for Gifted Children (www.uagc.org) sponsored a state-wide SENG facilitator training in 2005 and groups form on an ongoing basis around the state. [UtahSENG]is a list of parents interested in participating in a group and a list of individuals interested in being trained to co-lead a discussion group.
Topics discussed in the groups and reference articles can be found at: http://www.gagcutah.org/seng.cfm if you would like to read ahead while waiting for a group to form.
When groups form, you will receive an email notice. SENG groups are also posted at www.uagc.org and notices are sent on the free UAGC Listserv which you are highly encouraged to join:

Support these efforts by joining the Utah Assn for Gifted Children or one of its local affiliates:
http://www.uagc.org/join.html .
Networking with other parents thru UAGC and its affiliates is very valuable.
Recently a SENG-group parent started a new yahoo discussion group where parents can share local UTAH resources (summer camps, museums, recommendations regarding psychologists, etc). To join, go to
